Talking together about the future of cemeteries

Zurich's cemeteries are changing. This also raises questions for their future: How should cemeteries develop? What role should they play in the future? And what is important to you?

At the local echo chamber, we would like to explore these questions together with you. To kick things off, we will explore the Sihlfeld cemetery on a walk and take a look at different areas. Afterwards, you will learn more about the "Future of Zurich Cemeteries" project and about current developments around the cemeteries.

In exchange with other participants, we collect and discuss different perspectives and recommendations. The results will be incorporated into the further strategy process.

A look behind the scenes: Voluntary guided tour

Curious about the history and special places of the Sihlfeld cemetery? After the event, interested parties will have the opportunity to take part in a historical tour of the old crematorium. You will not only gain exciting insights into the history of the cemetery and the development of cremation, but also have the opportunity to discover a selected collection of historical and extraordinary tombstones. The tour impressively combines historical architecture, burial culture and special testimonies of past times.
