Früchte der Stadt / Fruits of the city

In der Stadt Zürich stehen viele Obstbäume und einen Grossteil davon steht im öffentlichen Raum der Stadt. Im Park oder am Wegrand findet man zum Beispiel Felsenbirne, Maulbeeren, Äpfel, Kirschen und vieles mehr. Früchte, die alle zur Lebensqualität der Stadt beitragen. 22.000 Bäume werden von der Grün Stadt Zürich gehegt und gepflegt laut Baumkatasters der Stadt. Aber auch Privat gibt es Ernteüberschüsse und wünsche zur Verarbeitungs-aushilfe. Interessanterweise wird das Obst nur selten gepflückt oder geerntet, vielleicht weil den Bäumen kaum Beachtung geschenkt wird, oder weil man nicht von Mundraub beschuldigt werden will, oder weil jemensch gerade gar keinen geeigneten Behälter mitgenommen hat. Es gibt Ausnahmen wie das Apfelfest in Quartierhaus des Kreis 6, wo das Ernten und Entsaften der Äpfel mit Freiwilligen aus der Nachbarschaft gemeinsam gemacht wird. Dazu nimmt jede:r lediglich ein Korb, pflückt die Äpfel und läuft mit einem vollen Korb und einem leeren Getränkebehälter zu der Saftpresse. Wenige Minuten später nimmt jede:r feinen, saftigen Most mit nach Hause. (https://qh6.ch/mitteilungen/apfelfest-2021-1292021/) Im Rahmen der Stadtidee.ch möchte ich gern eine Erweiterung dieses Apfelfest-Prinzip vorschlagen. Mit Hilfe einer minimalen Infrastruktur und eine Community, welcher in einer Chatgruppe organisiert ist, verabredet man sich zu einer "Früchte der Stadt" Aktion. Dabei wird ein E-Lastenvelo mit einer Anlage zur Herstellung von Saft, Marmelade, Fermentation und weitere Konservierungsmethoden zu den Früchten gefahren. Dann nimmt diese Community von Mitglieder:innen und Helfer:innen eine kleine Produktion vor Ort auf. Damit würdigt man die Früchte und nimmt am Schluss wertvolles Selbstgemachtes mit nach Hause. Bei diesen Anlässen können Kenntnisse der Biodiversität der Stadt und Techniken der Konservierung ausgetauscht und neue Ideen gesponnen werden. Ausserdem kann man die (Früchte der) Stadt Zürich mit dem Magen lieben lernen.
