The platform "Participation in Zurich's future" is the participation portal of the city of Zurich.

Get involved in dialogue, have an influence, help shape the city, become active. You can do all of this in the participation portal "Taking part in Zurich's future". For example in participation projects on planning, construction projects or special topics, in existing committees or in the form of voluntary work in the district or in the neighborhood. Join us!

Process phases

In November 2025, personal discussions will be held with those directly affected from the neighbourhood so that the different perspectives of the neighbourhood can be incorporated into the planning.

At the dialogue event with residents and groups from the neighbourhood, we will create a common understanding of previous findings and challenges. Together, we check whether the hypotheses developed are correct and can serve as a basis for further project planning. In addition, we present initial conceptual considerations in project planning.

At the public information event, we will explain the framework conditions of the project, the results of the participation process so far and initial conceptual project ideas. We show how good cooperation can succeed in the "Aemtleranlage" and which aspects should be given special consideration in the renovation from the district's point of view. You can bring in your concerns and talk to those responsible.

A survey on the current playground is planned. Flyers will be distributed to all households around the Aemtlleranlage and information boards will be set up in the park. The survey can also be completed via the link on the homepage.

Two events with children, parents and other caregivers are planned.

At the dialogue event in spring 2027 with residents and groups from the neighbourhood, we will explain the construction project. We check whether the jointly developed principles have been incorporated into the planning and what the solutions look like.

At the public information event in the summer of 2027, we will explain the construction project and how to deal with the jointly developed principles for planning. We discuss what the solutions look like and how they should affect the good cooperation in the "Aemtlleranlage".  You can talk to those responsible.

Here you will find all the important information about the participation process for the "Aemtleranlage" renovation project.

The Aemtleranlage is a popular park with a district-wide appeal. Spacious meadows, an old tree population, a school garden with various leased areas, a playground and several seating areas characterize the park.

The "Aemtleranlage" was built on the former Wiedikon Cemetery, which later became Department B of the Sihlfeld Cemetery, after the Zurich City Council decided in 1962 to convert parts of the Sihlfeld Cemetery into parks. The essential components of the redesign of 1972, including pathways and materialisation, have largely been preserved to this day.

The park is valuable in terms of garden preservation. The "Aemtleranlage" district park has never been extensively repaired since it was built and therefore needs to be renovated.

The office of LORENZ EUGSTER Landschaftsarchitektur und Städtebau GmbH and its team won the planner selection procedure for the planning and implementation of the renovation tendered by Grün Stadt Zürich.

For the public events as well as the dialogue events, the office is supported by moderat GmbH. In dialogue with residents and users, Grün Stadt Zürich would like to find out how good cooperation can be achieved in the "Aemtleranlage" and which aspects should be taken into account in the renovation from the district's point of view.

Further clarifications are currently underway, which is why the schedule has been postponed somewhat.

The monument preservation issues in the urn niche wall area require further investigation. Various usage claims, e.g. by dog owners, as well as new signage for the facility are also being examined in depth. These were wishes from the population.

In addition, children and parents are involved in the planning of the play area. The results of this participation will be incorporated into the planning.

The next public information event is expected to take place in summer 2027. The exact time will be determined as soon as the open questions have been clarified.
