Next steps in the participatory budget of the pilot district

Hoi Interested parties of the pilot district,

thank you very much for submitting your exciting ideas and the active exchange at the think tanks! Many interesting ideas were submitted and stimulating discussions were held.

With a view to the next steps, we would like to give you an overview and practical information about the upcoming milestones in the process:

1. Deadline for submitting ideas: March 31

There are just under two weeks left to submit or adapt new ideas. Use the time to make sure all the details are clear and understandable. The more concrete your idea, the easier it is for people to get an idea of it.

If you want to network with other idea generators, you can send a message directly by clicking on the name of the respective person. Due to technical problems with the comment function, this is currently the more reliable way.

2. Preliminary review of ideas

In recent weeks, we have commented on your ideas in cooperation with the city and checked for their compatibility with the rules of the participatory budget. If you haven't seen the comments yet, feel free to take a look at them.It is fundamentally important for the qualification for the participatory budget that the ideas are

• relevant for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, oriented towards

the

• common good and usable for many people and 

• can be implemented independently by the idea providers.

These are the decisive aspects on the basis of which it is decided whether your ideas will be put into the voting.

3. Voting period: 13 April to 13 May

From 13 April to 13 May, the population can vote on their favourites. At the same time, a jury of experts will evaluate the ideas. The results of the jury and the public voting are weighted 50% each.

4. Announcement of the voted ideas: June

13 The selected ideas will be publicly announced on June 13 at the Net Zero Festival. We would also like to use the festival to celebrate all the committed people and the many great ideas. So feel free to come by! This is also a good opportunity to become a comrade-in-arms for the voted ideas!

5. Project forging: July to September 2026

After the idea voting, the intensive work phase begins: The selected ideas are further developed into technically, politically and financially feasible projects or prototypes. Accompanied by experts and coaches, the idea givers and other interested parties work on the project ideas for several weeks in co-creative workshops. The dates for the forges are:

• July 11

• 29 August

• 26 September

Of course, we are also available for you outside of the Project Forges.

6. Final voting at the end of the year: 6 November to 23 November

At the end of the year, the public will vote again and decide which projects will receive the funding and will be implemented. At the same time, a jury of experts will again evaluate the ideas. The results of the jury and the public voting are weighted 50% each.

7. Implementation of the ideas: 2027

With the award of the final selected projects at the end of 2026, it will be decided which projects will be funded and implemented from 2027 onwards!
