What should be created?
The project aims to make the energy transition in the neighbourhood visible and tangible on the basis of concrete practical examples from the neighbourhood and to establish a network of energy ambassadors who are available to provide information to building owners in order to motivate and support building owners in using renewable energies and implementing energy efficiency measures. There are already many positive examples of the use of renewable energies in the pilot district, such as geothermal probe heat pumps, air-to-water heat pumps or solar systems. However, such practical examples are currently hardly known. Once created, they are often no longer visible from the street. The situation is similar with energy efficiency measures in buildings. Scientific studies show that concrete practical examples from the neighbourhood are among the strongest motivators for motivating private individuals to behave in an environmentally friendly way. The experience gained with such installations can also help to use the best technologies, avoid negative effects and ensure optimal operation. However, such experiences are hardly known in the neighbourhood so far. With the project "Binz/Alt-Wiedike het Energie!", we want to change this. In the project, we would like to test and explore how existing practical examples can be made as well known as possible to the target groups and how as many contacts and interactions as possible can be achieved between energy ambassadors as well as interested building owners and other people. Among other things, the following are planned: Announcement of concrete practical examples via a printed publication regularly distributed in the district; Sightseeing opportunities and energy aperitifs to exchange experiences in the neighbourhood and reach specific target groups; Visualization of practical examples on an interactive overview map; Photos and a virtual energy tour of the district; a series of videos in which energy ambassadors present their practical examples for dissemination via social media; as well as the installation/shared use of touchscreens in the neighbourhood on which the interactive map, the virtual energy tour and the videos are shown. As far as possible, existing communication channels of the city and the neighbourhood associations will be used. The result is a "Binz/Alt-Wiedike het Energie!" programme, which sets in motion a positive dynamic through numerous practical examples and interactions between energy ambassadors and interested parties from the population, which makes a significant contribution to motivating building owners to use renewable energies and to implement energy efficiency measures.
