BrunnenBottle - Make fountain water the easy and attractive alternative to plastic bottles in the quartier.

What should be created? Use the neighborhood’s fountains to replace plastic water bottles with a shared reusable steel bottle system. In other words, instead of buying another plastic water bottle at the Binz Train Station Kiosk, while waiting for the train. I would lend a bottle from a vending machine/kiosk/cafe for a small fee (1*CHF) and fill it with the high quality water from the fountain (avoiding the microplastics). In the participating fountain there will be some visual indicator signaling the water’s quality. The project would provide about 500* shared bottles that people can borrow for a small fee or deposit, fill at fountains, and return for cleaning at participating cafés, kiosks, or other nearby locations. Bottle checkout and return would be done with a simple QR-code system. What the project adds - Water quality information for each fountain. - A public display or visual element at the fountain to build trust. - An app or digital feature showing fountain quality and bottle availability. - A clean return and washing process for the shared bottles.
