Wiedikon for the world: Donation circle for the most effective climate projects

Idea not chosen

Janique Behman 30/03/2026 20:50

Global warming is a global challenge, and as local actors, we are best off taking the biggest levers into our hands: We boost the world's best CO2 reduction projects. https://effektiv-spenden.org/effektiver-klimaschutz/#top-hilfsorganisationen Years of research have shown that the best projects are 15-30 times more effective than a typical CO2 compensation project, and probably 100-500 times more effective than a typical Zurich climate project in the district. (Source: https://claude.ai/share/ae5fee1e-d1b7-4456-98a5-8aebe1cf82f3) That is why we are mobilizing local companies and individuals in Alt-Wiedikon and in the Binz industrial district. They commit to donating a small percentage of their income to the world's best projects from 2027-2031. The group meets once a year to hear about progress in the projects and to maintain motivation for donations.

Name: Janique Behman, inspired by Effective Altruism Zurich and Effective Donations Switzerland; I/we are still looking for comrades-in-arms
Describe the place(s): Companies in Binz and Alt-Wiedikon, possibly also individuals
