Many businesses have adapted to the previous parking facilities over the years – both for customers and for deliveries and goods handling. The loss of this space not only makes it more difficult for customers to be reached, but also hinders the logistical processes of the companies. Possible improvement for the city's businesses: Although the city offers existing regulations (e.g. parking passes for blue zones), it is precisely these parking spaces that are currently being reduced. In order to ensure the competitiveness of the industry, we propose to set up alternative parking and transhipment zones specifically for commercial purposes. Concrete measures: - Conversion of blue into green parking spaces: Some of the blue parking spaces that will be eliminated are to be converted into commercial delivery and transhipment zones (green fields). - Cost regulation: - - Short deliveries (e.g. post office, Coop) remain free of charge for all vehicles. - - Longer envelopes: Electric vehicles are generally exempt from fees, all others pay the usual tariffs. Conclusion: The new transshipment and delivery zones for the commercial sector will not only strengthen the economic viability of the businesses, but also maintain the quality of life of residents - for example through less wild parking and uncontrolled delivery traffic. The aim is to get the industry on board with this project. Many feel ignored in these issues and we should take a path to find a good solution for everyone. What can the Wiedikon Trade Association contribute to this? We can implement the project as a prototype. To this end, we will implement the project fictitious together with affected and interested companies and also implement an app with a simple and contemporary process. Estimated costs: CHF 35'000.- For project prototype with app.
