ReUseSolar – Promoting the circular economy with second-life PV applications

Avatar: Vasileios Panagiotidis Vasileios Panagiotidis

What should be created?
The problem: With the rapid expansion of solar energy, PV modules are increasingly being produced that are still technically powerful, but are being replaced for economic or planning reasons. This creates waste that could be avoided. The solution: In pilot districts, we would like to implement modular, flexibly deployable second-life PV applications, such as solar pergolas, temporary PV installations or solar carports, in areas and meeting places. The added value: Raising awareness of the circular economy in the use of solar energy, local value creation and social innovation, CO₂ reduction (scope 3), resource conservation and waste reduction.
