Edible plants instead of plants that cannot be used for food purposes

Instead of (apart from improving the climate) useless plants and bushes, you could plant apples and pear trees and blackberries or other edible plants. Pros: Society would receive more healthy food (poor families in particular could do something for their health). So we would have to import a little less fruit/vegetables and would have less health insurance costs because people would be healthier thanks to more antioxidants and fresh fruit.
