Socially just electric mobility

Avatar: J.R. J.R.

What should be created?
The reduction of CO2 and particulate matter requires attractive charging solutions. This is in terms of usability and economic factors to enable the transition to climate-neutral mobility. Public charging stations for residents and visitors are to be created in the form of AC charging stations. Charging prices must be competitive compared to charging station owners with their basic electricity tariff. The aim is to enable CO2-free individual mobility for guests and residents. The municipal supplier offers charging stations in the more distant area, but the pricing there is not conducive to electromobility, as 0.50CHF/kwH and a minute rate or blocking fees are imposed from 120 minutes. An attractor provides these conditions with an average battery size of > 60kwH and a charging capacity of 11kwH and must be taken into account when adopting this proposal. A monetary and temporal limitation of the period of use should also be avoided in the off-peak hours, at best a free reservation system can be considered for intensive use. Permits from the electricity supplier do not have to be obtained for 11kwh charging stations. The installation costs across the board (wallbox, electrical distribution) are on average only in the mid-four-digit range. Specifically, I envisage a charging station with a charging rate for AC slow charging of 22kw of max. 10% above the basic tariff of households to enable an ROI. This would enable e-mobility for parking spaces that do not allow the charging infrastructure to be installed. The stations could be built on public municipal real estate. In particular, employee parking spaces (possibly of school buildings, administration buildings) could be used, which are otherwise not used outside of operating hours in the evening/night/morning. Through the dual use, the space efficiency of this urban microspace can be increased and a climate-neutral use can be achieved.
