Jane's Walks 2024
Rendez-vous for the fourth edition of Jane's Walk on 3, 4 and 5 May 2024!
On the first weekend in May, Jane's Walks take place, moving conversations in hundreds of cities around the world. The event is organized in honor of Jane Jacobs, a North American activist who campaigned in the 1960s for the preservation of neighborhoods on a human scale.
These walks, which are offered on a voluntary basis, invite you to discover your surroundings in a different way. An experience that strengthens social cohesion and civic engagement, and a call for planning professionals to go out, walk and meet the population in their everyday environment .
Do you want to organize a Jane's Walk?
You don't have to be an expert, because anyone can organize a Jane's Walk.
This means the following:
- Create a flyer based on a template.
- Plan a walk of about 1.5 hours on 3, 4 or 5 May to hear the anecdotes of your neighbourhood or a topic close to your heart (history, architecture, culture, biodiversity, street art, etc.).
- Communicate the walk to your circle of acquaintances.
- Liven up the walk on the day of execution by involving the participants.
Fussverkehr Schweiz supports you in the organisation and communication of your walk.
