About this process
In the summer of 2023, "Brings uf d'Strass!" came back to District 4 at the request of local residents. With this project, the Civil Engineering Department of the City of Zurich is testing a wide range of possible uses for neighbourhood streets. Especially in the warm season and in densely populated areas, there is a need for additional open spaces close to one's own home.
Gartenhofstrasse and Cramerstrasse were made available to residents and the neighbourhood for free use for several weeks during the summer. The planning so far has been carried out in close dialogue with committed people from the neighbourhood. After this year's implementation, the pilot project "Brings uf d'Strass!" will come to an end. The civil engineering department will evaluate the pilot project as a whole and take stock. The evaluation and the final report are being prepared and will be available by the beginning of 2024.
