Violence and masculinities - impulses for an equal society
Since its beginnings 35 years ago, the Office for Gender Equality of the City of Zurich has been focusing on the connection between violence and masculinities. At its anniversary conference, it took an in-depth look at it together with experts and the participants.
Gender-based violence is still a sad reality today. With the digital space, it has taken on new forms: gender-based violence is normalized on the Internet and then carried onto the streets, schools and families. At the anniversary conference, the Centre asked for concrete solutions in dealing with digital and analogue gender-based violence: How can young men who are influenced by influencers such as Andrew Tate be reached? What could an intersectional perspective change? And can involved fatherhood be a protective factor against violence?
