The platform "Participation in Zurich's future" is the participation portal of the city of Zurich.

Get involved in dialogue, have an influence, help shape the city, become active. You can do all of this in the participation portal "Taking part in Zurich's future". For example in participation projects on planning, construction projects or special topics, in existing committees or in the form of voluntary work in the district or in the neighborhood. Join us!

Process phases

Ideas and projects will be developed at Climathon Zurich 2022. The teams upload their projects to Decidim by November 6th 2022.

The climate challenge set by the city of Zurich can also be tackled by further persons and teams outside of Climathon. By participating to the participation process, you will have the opportunity to receive feedback from city experts, gain visibility and potentially have the opportunity to present your project to a city committee or at one of our upcoming Klimaforum gathering.

City experts as well as Stakeholders are invited to give feedback and share their inputs to the teams and projects in order to support the further developement of the projects.

This phase enables the teams to incorporate the feedback from experts and to revise the project proposals. To do so, teams can directly adapt their proposals in the Klimaforum Online platform.

In this final phase, the 8-12 projects with most interactions are selected to present to city of Zurich committee. It will likely take place during the annual Klimaforum Event at the end of March 2023.

How can we accelerate a culture of repairing products? How can we make it simpler to repair? How can we enable & access know-how on where in ZH repairing services exist?

Current status: repair services EXIST in ZH across the city but demand is still a niche.

Solutions aimed for: How can nudges contribute to reduce waste volumes? How can nudges support the needed transition to a circular economy by boosting reparations instead of disposal/replacement (expand life span of products)?

  • Furniture (“ikea effect”?) 

  • Other product categories 

  • General Nudging of Repair Services, new business models… 

  • Know the limits of repairing 

  • Cheap product /not designed for repairing -> unrealistic benefit for the effort/price needed 

  • Existing solutions/product categories where repairing seems to work 

  • Bikes and cars 

  • Communication electronics (smart phone “doctors”, Apple store, Revendo, ...)
